THE BBC: FRIENDS OF CHILD ABUSE
by:Pox
2013/09/09
This is a subject that's been on my mind for a long time. I watched BBC: HUMAN PLANET recently and one episode just retriggered all those repressed memories of television and hippies aggressing my brain with their stupid double standard of egalitarianism and equal rights at home and moral relativism abroad.

Can we all just agree that this is child abuse?:

"Several times a year, the BLABERBLAH Indians hold a painful eleven hour ritual in which boys as young as twelve must stick their hands into a pair of specialy made gloves, each one infested with a swarm of angry, stinging jungle carnivores: Giant tropical bullet ants".

Note that they go through this TWENTY TIMES.

In case you don't know what a bullet ant is, here's a bunch of idiots getting stung by one on purpose:

It has been described as the most painful insect sting. Now I'm not going to dispute that but let's imagine if Jews in Canada made their sons wear a wasp hive on their heads for a day as part of their Bah Mitzvah, you don't think people would kind of frown upon that? Listen to how their tribe's chief justifies it:

"If you live your life without suffering anything or without any kind of effort, it won't be worth anything to you."

WELL I SURE CAN'T ARGUE WITH THAT. Neither can National Geographic or the BBC who, for years, have fed us these horrid documentaries about ass-backwards shitholes and the insane people living in them who murder each other in tribal conflicts and abuse their children and women to a degree that shames the most conservative of Talibans. Why are we sitting here condemning those people for female circumcision or brainwashing their kids as we marvel at beautiful documentaries featuring neolithic cultures living in isolation of the prosperity brought to us by our science.

Here's more of this shit, so you're all good and disgusted:

"It is their traditional belief that to become men, they must expell the contaminating influences of women... Elders shoves several feet of pit pit canes down the back of their throats then pull it out until they wretch again and again. Then it's the novice's turn... Then to get rid of any contaminants they may have breathed, the men ram sharp reeds deep into each other's nostrils. Blood and mucus pour freely. To complete their passage into manhood, DUMBASS and the others must... poke their tongues with a sharp arrow so it bleeds a lot.... yeah"

( Note that all this is going on as these guys walk around wearing Nike t-shirts and baseball caps)

"Suffering a Thousand Cuts"

I will let you guess what this one is about:

"Every summer, boys are circumsized, painted white and isolated in remote huts where they spend weeks healing.(..) Hygiene is poor and infection is common. Some Cosa boys die trying to become men."

Last example, from BBC, the Korowai:

Wow look at how beautiful and mighty it all is! Except that these people practiced cannibalism up to very recently ( and still might be doing so).

60 Minutes: The Last Cannibals

There's no mention of the tribal conflicts. No mention of their murder rates, women and child abuse or ass-backwards religious practices and ritual executions. In the BBC documentary, there is but a brief mention at the end of their low life expectancy as one of the cameramen or whatever gives us a breathaking example of how stupid you have to be to go film cannibals in the ass-end of nowhere with this quote ( paraphrasing):

"You know, they build houses in trees without any safety equipment. They are truly free. Maybe they do have a lower life expectancy but I think it's worth to trade that in for a freer life!"

WHAT AN IDIOT.

Human Planet is really by far the worst offender because as it GLORIFIES this. National Geographic usually act as passive neutral observers of the madness but the BBC has made an artform out of praising and marveling at what are Stone Age cultures or people living in extremely dangerous, impoverished or difficult positions.

Though there is one thing you can take away from this: Children don't give a shit what you do to them as long as you tell them it's good. Look at what they gleefully take part in and perpetuate while we sit here pretending like it's OK for an adult to be a dickhole because he or she was teased in elementary school.

Fucking people. Now to eat candy. Hm. Candy.
