No drinking for a year??? by:Pox 2011/07/26 UPDATE-- DONE and I win. Can I stop drinking for an entire year? That's what we'll find out! In one year! And I do drink, I'm not a Mormon. I've collected around 300 different beer labels over the last couple years. I DRINK. When I go to bars, it costs me a LOT. So much that I'm embarassed to write it down on this website... Even if I only drank one pint per week, that would be 364$ a year... and I know damn well I drink more than that! Drinking is just getting old I have to say. I've sampled enough beers to get a general idea of what beer tastes like by now. I finally know that wine tasters are just drunks pretending to be pussies. You're not fooling anyone by acting like you're amazed and delighted by wine after 10 years of tasting it. If all you want to do is find an excuse travel around the country with your prissy buddies, why don't you do real activities like Six Flags or Vegas? Whenever I drink now, I feel good at first and then worse than before after. I don't even know why, it's just awful. What used to be a fun party thing that would put me to sleep with a smile on my face and puke in my gut now barely makes me dizzy and dredges up all the worst thoughts in my head. I can't even get properly drunk anymore. Not with beer at least. It's like trying to get drunk on bread... there's not enough room in my stommach and certainly not enough cash in my wallet. So fuck it, no more drinking! For a year! I'll save money, be healthier and find out just how boring people actually are when I'm out at bars. Exception: I can have 3 drinks during the year. That'll be fun! When will I choose to drink? With family during Holidays? To celebrate some accomplishment? ( unlikely) To sample a rare beer? We'll find out!
